This display shows a matrix of varying human systems use of material inputs and production of emissions. The top of the matrix is material inputs that relate most to environmental systems (fossil fuel use, water use, and deforestation) and carbon emissions. The other side the matrix shows specific human systems of GDP, population, and labor. Each of these systems shows the impact or intensity in the chosen year, the cumulative impact or intensity, and the raw values associated with each human systems growth. Below this matrix there is a table that shows the total value and percent change for GDP, population, and labor.

The above matrix helps you understand the relationship between material inputs (such as fossil fuels and water) flowing into human systems and emissions coming from human systems (such as carbon dioxide), on the one hand, and size of GDP, population, and labor force on the other. It helps track whether ratios of inputs and outputs are increasing or decreasing relative to the size of human systems.

The Advanced Sustainability Analysis specialized display can be reached from the Main Menu: click the Display option, the Specialized Display sub-option and then the Advanced Sustainability Analysis sub-sub-option. It is also located under the Main Menu Map options.
