The variables are highlighted in green, yellow or red. The color indicates whether or not the variable has met the goal level set for that variable. If it has, the variable will be highlighted in green. If it has not, it will either be highlighted in yellow, if the value for the variable is between the alert level and the goal level, or in red, if the value for the variable has crossed the threshold for the alert level.

These goal and alert levels can be evaluated in two ways:

- Absolute evaluation compares each variable to fixed global targets.

- Relative evaluation with income level adjusts the thresholds based on a country’s income group, although income groups are not displayed explicitly; only the goal and alert values change accordingly.

This display feature of IFs allows users to analyze and evaluate any Run-Result-File normatively. Users can set evaluative criterion and assign them numerical weights. The model is then run and each criterion is evaluated with respect to what variables most heavily affected the resulting number.

= Evaluate Priorities =

Evaluate Priorities can be found under the Specialized Display sub-option under the Display option on the Main Menu. It is also located under the [[Main_Menu_Map|Main Menu Map]] options.

This display feature of IFs allows users to analyze and evaluate any Run-Result-File normatively. Users can set evaluative criterion and assign them numerical weights. The model is then run and each criterion is evaluated with respect to what variables most heavily affected the resulting number.

[[File:Evalprior.gif|frame|right|Example of evaluated priorities for a particular country/region or group]]When this option is selected from the Display option on the Main Menu and the Specialized Display sub-option, a window opens that asks for your name. You are then guided to a menu that allows you to flexibly evaluate your Run-Result-File to your needs and goals.

On the Evaluate Priorities menu, you are able to toggle between countries/regions or groups. The next option is a Display option. This allows you to access some of the display features of IFs. The next option on the menu of Evaluate Priorities is the Reset Priorities option. This allows users to clear all priority changes that were previously made.

The final option allows users to Change Priorities. Choosing this option opens up a secondary window where users can individualize their evaluative criteria. For example, if you were interested in emphasizing GDP per capita, double click on the number found in the column labeled “Weight”. This will bring up a smaller window that allows you to increase or decrease the numeric priority assigned to GDP per capita. The average priority for all variables is 5. From this screen, users can choose Define Priorities. This brings up a new window that allows for many different variables to be added to the main priorities menu.

If a user is interested in agricultural yield figures but it is currently not displayed on the Main Menu of Evaluate Priorities, they can click on the “No” that is found under the Guided Use column on the Define Priorities menu. Users can also delete any changes made to this list by selecting the Reset G.U. option found at the bottom of the Define Priorities menu.

Returning to the Evaluate Priorities form, users are able to see and change the weight allotted to certain variables by double clicking on the number located under the column labeled “Prior”. Also, if you would like to display the result of one variable over time, double-click on the number located under the column labeled Run-File. This will bring up a new [[General_Display_Options#Table_Use|table]].

From the scroll-down lists located at the top of the Evaluate Priorities screen just below the menu, users can change the countries/regions or groups, the year that is being displayed and the Run-Result-File that is used as the source of results.

The left column of the table represents different variables calculated by IFs organized into categories. The Computed Value column includes the actual numbers calculated for the selected year (top right scroll-down list). These values are then used to calculate the Expected Value Predicted from GDP (Gross Domestic Product) Per Capita at PPP (Purchasing Power Parity). A Standard Error is then displayed, followed by a Standard Error of the Value from the Prediction. The final two values display how the categories Contributed to Annual Growth (as a percentage) and how their contribution can be displayed as a parameter.

Click any variable displayed on the left to graph the Computed Value of that variable for the selected year, as well as a logarithmic graph of GDP at PPP compared to the variable. See an example below:

Infrastructure Profile is a sub-sub option, located under Specialized Display, which in turn is a sub-option of the Display option on the main menu of IFs. Infrastructure Profile is also located under the [[Main_Menu_Map|Main Menu Map]] options.

Clicking on Infrastructure Profile allows the user to view multiple components of the infrastructure for a [[Country/Region,_Group_or_G-List|country/region or group]], including: Water and Sanitation, Transportation, Energy, Information-Communications Technology (ICT), and Knowledge Systems. Most of these components are a composite of different variables. The value of each of these variables is displayed in four ways: Computed Value, Expected Value Predicted from GDP per Capita at Purchasing Power Parity (PPP), Standard Error of Estimate, and Standard Errors of Value from Prediction. The user can change the year displayed in the Infrastructure Profile up to 2100 by clicking on the ‘Select Year’ dropdown box at the top-center of the screen

The user can display the computed values for the variables over time in a [[General_Display_Options#Table_Use|table]] by clicking on a desired value. The table that appears displays the computed values over time according to several different [[Scenario_Description|scenarios]]. The user can also view a variable displayed in a [[General_Display_Options#Line_Graph,_Bar_Graph,_Scatter,_Etc.|graph]] by clicking on a given variable. After viewing the graph, the user can return to the Infrastructure Profile by clicking on continue.

The Financial Profile sub-sub-option can be reached from the Display option on the Main Menu, the Specialized Display sub-option and the Financial Profile sub-sub-option. It is also located under the [[Main_Menu_Map|Main Menu Map]] options.

When you select the Financial Profile from the Specialized Display menu, you are presented with a chart that divides financial information for any given country/region or group into Domestic and International data. The chart then organizes this data into absolute numbers, percentages of GDP and percentages of exports.

Experiment with the Financial Profile. Assume you would like to know what trends you can see in global reserves held by all countries except for the United States. From the top of the Financial Profile menu first click on the [[Country/Region,_Group_or_G-List|Using Countries/Regions - Using Groups]] toggle. Scroll down the groups until you find the option for World Except USA.

Choose a cell that you would like to explore more fully. If you would like to look at the total global reserves held by all countries except for the USA, click no the table where the Reserves row intersects with the Absolute column. This will bring up a prompt called Show Over Time. If you select this option, a [[General_Display_Options#Table_Use|table]] will open showing this value forecast using different Run-Result-Files.

Another Financial Profile option is the Show Top Countries/Regions. Selecting this will bring up a new screen called the Financial Profile Filter. This feature of IFs allows users to quickly access countries who have the highest levels of certain financial data filtered as absolute numbers, percentages of GDP or percentages of exports. Infrastructure Profile is a sub-sub option, located under Specialized Display, which in turn is a sub-option of the Display option on the main menu of IFs. Infrastructure Profile is also located under the [[Main_Menu_Map|Main Menu Map]] options.

Clicking on Infrastructure Profile allows the user to view multiple components of the infrastructure for a [[Country/Region,_Group_or_G-List|country/region or group]], including: Water and Sanitation, Transportation, Energy, Information-Communications Technology (ICT), and Knowledge Systems. Most of these components are a composite of different variables. The value of each of these variables is displayed in four ways: Computed Value, Expected Value Predicted from GDP per Capita at Purchasing Power Parity (PPP), Standard Error of Estimate, and Standard Errors of Value from Prediction. The user can change the year displayed in the Infrastructure Profile up to 2100 by clicking on the ‘Select Year’ dropdown box at the top-center of the screen

The user can display the computed values for the variables over time in a [[General_Display_Options#Table_Use|table]] by clicking on a desired value. The table that appears displays the computed values over time according to several different [[Scenario_Description|scenarios]]. When you select the Financial Profile from the Specialized Display menu, you are presented with a chart that divides financial information for any given country/region or group into Domestic and International data. The chart then organizes this data into absolute numbers, percentages of GDP and percentages of exports.

Experiment with the Financial Profile. Assume you would like to know what trends you can see in global reserves held by all countries except for the United States. From the top of the Financial Profile menu first click on the [[Country/Region,_Group_or_G-List|Using Countries/Regions - Using Groups]] toggle. Scroll down the groups until you find the option for World Except USA.

Choose a cell that you would like to explore more fully. If you would like to look at the total global reserves held by all countries except for the USA, click no the table where the Reserves row intersects with the Absolute column. This will bring up a prompt called Show Over Time. If you select this option, a [[General_Display_Options#Table_Use|table]] will open showing this value forecast using different Run-Result-Files.

Another Financial Profile option is the Show Top Countries/Regions. Selecting this will bring up a new screen called the Financial Profile Filter. Infrastructure Profile is a sub-sub option, located under Specialized Display, which in turn is a sub-option of the Display option on the main menu of IFs. Infrastructure Profile is also located under the [[Main_Menu_Map|Main Menu Map]] options.

Clicking on Infrastructure Profile allows the user to view multiple components of the infrastructure for a [[Country/Region,_Group_or_G-List|country/region or group]], including: Water and Sanitation, Transportation, Energy, Information-Communications Technology (ICT), and Knowledge Systems. Most of these components are a composite of different variables. The value of each of these variables is displayed in four ways: Computed Value, Expected Value Predicted from GDP per Capita at Purchasing Power Parity (PPP), Standard Error of Estimate, and Standard Errors of Value from Prediction. The user can change the year displayed in the Infrastructure Profile up to 2100 by clicking on the ‘Select Year’ dropdown box at the top-center of the screen

When you select the Financial Profile from the Specialized Display menu, you are presented with a chart that divides financial information for any given country/region or group into Domestic and International data. Experiment with the Financial Profile. Assume you would like to know what trends you can see in global reserves held by all countries except for the United States. From the top of the Financial Profile menu first click on the [[Country/Region,_Group_or_G-List|Using Countries/Regions - Using Groups]] toggle. Scroll down the groups until you find the option for World Except USA.

Choose a cell that you would like to explore more fully. If you would like to look at the total global reserves held by all countries except for the USA, click no the table where the Reserves row intersects with the Absolute column. To access the Education by Age, Sex, and Level option, select Display from the Main Menu, then select sub-option Specialized Displays by Issues and then Education by Age, Sex, and Level. Education by Age, Sex, and Level is also accessible through the [[Main_Menu_Map_Pop-up|Main Menu Map Pop-up]] options.

Education by Age, Sex, and Level displays are broken down into levels of educational attainment with each level of attainment being distinguished by a different color. Educational attainment is broken down as follows: no formal education, primary education, secondary education, tertiary education and those too young to achieve formal education. Check with the legend at the top of the graph to see what colors represent what level of educational attainment.

These graphs can be projected through time using the Advance and Regress features under the Time menu option located above the chart. Additionally, you can switch from country/region to group by using the toggle on the top menu bar. Using the Distribution Type option at the top of this screen you can select only those who did not attain any formal education, those who attained primary or more, those with secondary or more, or those with tertiary levels of educational attainment.

You are also able to display information as a product of the base case or of a working file. Click on the Change Display option from the toolbar, then the Change Scenario sub-option. You then have the choice of the base case or a working file.

The chart below is the projected educational attainment by cohort and sex of Tanzania for the year 2010. Remember, in order to display [[Repeated_Features#Country/Region,_Group_or_Geography-List|groups instead of countries/regions]], you have to toggle between the Groups and the Countries/Regions buttons.
