			The Census of India<ref>http://censusindia.gov.in/</ref> is conducted every ten years, the most recent census was in 2011. This data was used to calculate the ratio of population that was attributed to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for the Population series by using district-level population data from the 2011 census. Each district that was formerly a part of Andhra Pradesh that became a part of Telangana when the state was created in 2014, was summed to get a population estimate. This estimate was then used to find a population ratio of Telangana relative to the former Andhra Pradesh (before bifurcation). This ratio was then applied to the current population series to estimate population for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh accurately.

			Migration was also found in the census, but there is only migration data available from the 2001 census. The 2011 census migration data tables have not been published yet.
