Summary
The Inter-Parliamentary Union is the global organization of national parliaments that started in 1889. In 1889, they started as a small group of parliamentarians, dedicated to promoting peace through parliamentary diplomacy and dialogue, has since grown into a global organization with 181 Members and 15 Associate Members that promotes peace, democracy and sustainable development around the world.
The IPU provides invaluable statistics and publication especially regarding gender. Each month, the IPU publishes rankings of the percentage of women in national parliaments. There are two tables that utilizes this data in IFs.
