Summary

The Country Policy and Institutional Assessment (CPIA) is an annual diagnostic tool used by the World Bank to assess the quality of a country's policies and institutions. It measures how well a country's framework supports poverty reduction, sustainable growth, and the effective use of development assistance.

Data Pulling Instructions

  1. Navigate to https://databank.worldbank.org/source/country-policy-and-institutional-assessment
  2. Select all countries and all years.

For indicators you can either:

  1. Select all indicators and proceed to download to do the calculations for the average value (add all values and then divide by 21)

OR

  1. Have the DataBank do it for you.
  2. Click create custom indicator, select each indicator and in between each add a + sign. Once all 21 are selected click the / sign and 21
