GEM
The gender empowerment index was found in a Human Development Report of India. There is data for 1981 and 1991.
Because GEM is no longer produced it is unlikely that more recent data will be found at the subnational level.

Gini coefficients for India's states was found in a Human Development Report of India and there is data for 1983, 1993, and 1999.
